The thing that was wrong was your statement that it ONLY happens in Manatee County. You wanna make a bet that I can find crime stories in Sarasota?

You will. As we have said OVER and OVER and OVER again.... EVERY CITY HAS IT'S CRIMES! People don't see those crimes when it's referred to a city that they likes. Bradenton's crime level is going up and up and the crime is getting out of hand. Yes, there is crime in Sarasota. Is it as out of hand as Bradenton... no. Just read the Bradenton Herald sometime and you will see the massive around of crime going on, not to mention what isn't mentioned.

And I can find the same types of stories happening in Sarasota, in Port Charlotte, in Englewood, in North Port...anywhere you go you're going to find crime. It's a symptom of living in a society, not any particular place.

Tell me... in Sarasota or Charlotte Counties... the two counties with the cities you mentioned above..are they looking at their 17th HOMICIDE only have way through the year? I think not. Manatee County is. Bradenton's murder rate I believe is already higher this year than the total number from all of 2008. So, when we say Bradenton is getting bad.... IT'S GETTING BAD!!

Yes, these things are happening all over...but, they are happening in Manatee County at an alarming rate. We've got crime in Sarasota; I've never said we don't, but it makes first page news in Bradenton, just about every other day.

If someone's not getting shot, they're robbing a bank to pay for their oxy addiction; a sympton of being unable to support your drug use in Bradenton, right? Because... there are no jobs that will cover a $100/day pill habit and allow you to pay your bills on time.

If you look at the content of the crime scene in Bradenton, it all revolves around drugs, which are a symptom of people's inability to cope with the reality of their world.

Look at how happy people were last week when the gentleman who was getting robbed shot the robber instead....

I was looking at Palma Sola Trace at the corner of Cortez and 75th St. How is that area? It looked like a good area. By the Bonefish Grill.

Oddly, most times people who are killed already have some sort of relationship with their killer. If they don't know each other mutually, one does at least know the other. Since I don't know too many people, and generally stay inside if not in transit to work or grocery shopping, I feel I'm pretty safe.

We have a holiday home in Palma Sola Trace and we love it....We feel safe and secure and great location as it's within walking distance to shops. Arrive next week for summer and can't wait.

These things are easy to settle objectively. You can look up the per capita crime rates, per capita violent crime rates, etc for any county or city in the US. That would settle it once and for all.

OMG My husband took a job in Riverview Fl and has been driving around Hillsborough and Manatee counties trying to find the "right" place for us to move to.

My house in SC is under contract now closing Sept 30. My husband is telling me that he thought Bradenton was the one of the nicest areas he could find.

I am flying down Friday and have set up to view homes in that area mostly # (number) streets. Mistake??

After reading these posts now I am worried sick that this isn't a very nice place after all.

Please I need you honest unbiased opinion on Bradenton...before I pack up and move there.
