Two City of Savannah parks have been named winners in the inaugural TripSavvy Editors’ Choice Awards in the 2018 Parks and Gardens category. Forsyth Park received a Best Urban Park award and Bonaventure Cemetery was a winner under the Parks & Gardens category.

Spanning more than 30 acres, Forsyth Park is Savannah’s oldest public park. The land for the park was donated by William Brown Hodgson in the 1840s, and named for illustrious statesman and thirty-third Georgia governor John Forsyth, who also represented Georgia in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as serving as Secretary of State under Presidents Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren. The park’s iconic fountain was installed in 1858 and is today one of the most-photographed places in Savannah.

And most recently TripAdvisor - dubbed the world's largest travel site - added Georgia's oldest city to its most recent list of "America's 15 most romantic cities for winter travel." The city, known for its seafood and ghost tours, was listed No. 8 on the travel site’s list. "With 22 historic park-like squares, there are so many places in Savannah's National Landmark Historic District to enjoy the architecture," said Summer Bozeman, communications coordinator for Visit Savannah, "and Savannah's beaches are gloriously isolated. They're super romantic and very private."

Tonight while standing in line for the bathroom during intermission for Club One’s spectacular midnight production of ROCKY HORROR LIVE (amazing show) ... I struck up a conversation with a lady from Ireland who fell in love with Savannah during a visit last year and returned this year with 10 friends. They are here for a week. Wrap your heads around that.
