I'm betting a lot of guys would be TOTALLY ok with a robot - no need to talk, no need for emotions..."sex" whenever you want it with no strings attached. Sad, but true.

Then when they get old and decrepit, a nurse already bought and paid for! ...fine by me, I wouldn't want a guy like that anyway!

Well this thread was the incredibly predictable dump on the "socially awkward neckbeard nerds". Most people will still want a to be with a real life blood and flesh human being. A very small minority of men and women will want to have a robot as a mate. A very small minority not worthy of such contempt and hatred seeing as they wouldn't cause any harm to society.

It's creepy that's for sure, but if you can't find anyone...everyone deserves to be loved. So, I'm for it.

First thing I think of is those robot pets you can get. Does anyone really feel loved by them? Would anyone really want one of those instead of a "real" loving dog? Or is it just a novelty that when you get down to it, feels the same as a toy? I think it would be about the same really--no different than today's robot pets or sex toys.

I think today, there will be/is a person who is ok with a AI/Robot type of partner and would have no issue being in that type of " relationship".

Robots can't love. No matter how far technology advances, I do not believe robots will ever have the ability to have emotions.

Everyone may deserve to be loved, but not everyone will find it.

Yeah but they can ACT like they love you. Better than nothing. I'd take one.

Why have a robot when you can have a pillow?
