Moving here from the Bay Area we were amazed at how much cleaner the air is. Part of it is less population but also more old growth forests that help clean the air, the rain 9 months of the year, and less pollution from industry. I work in Seattle and it's only after a month or more of dry clear weather that you notice any smog at all. Well, at least t was that way until the last few years when we have been getting the smoke from wildfires blowing in from Eastern WA and from other states.

My Mom has suffered from allergies and other respiratory issues all her life in California, but she moved up to Sequim in 1998 and it was like a miracle cure.
