Several people have said that. I suspect, though, that if I had been cast in the movie Dances With Wolves,I would not have been named Kicking Bird. Nope, I'm almost certain my name would have been Sitting Duck...

PS: There actually was a Kicking Bird. He wasn't Lakota, but Kiowa.

In persona I am called She buck 'Ona it means deaf man, seems fitting, but there was a real one and he first fought against the Brits in the F&I War and then with them in the Rev War. I have a passion to re-create his pipehawk someday, with fancy curley maple and a nice silver inlay.

As Rodney King once said, "Can't we all just get along?"

Oh, Nighteyes, no, I'm not offended at all, no apologies necessary. I realize we are using an open board for discussion and people have opinions. Btw, I find your posts, and many others here, to be very informative, very good advice. I'm always up for learning, no matter the subject. So no worries my friend, we are good.

You already know that Nighteyes comes from my cowboy action shooting alias, Daniel Nighteyes. From there it gets kinda interesting. The short form: during the Civil War, members of the Second Cherokee Artillery named him Nighteyes because of his exceptional night vision. So you see, that's his alias too!

(Sneaky ol' cuss, ain't I?? )
