Yes. The Netherlands have such a mean history of losing even unjustified, so one can't really claim that this was "unfair".
The penalty was a penalty. Márquez wasn't even close reaching the ball, and good that refs have sometimes the guts to whistle even for clear but rather minor fauls. That's why the penalty area is there, and it's not a wrestling ring.
He should look into our WC history then With the amount of missed penalties, group of deaths, biased referees and lost finals I doubt any team would want our "luck".
Congrats Linda!!

The Netherlands was the team that stayed aggressive and kept creating chances. They deserved the win, tbh.
Also, I think Mexico´s coach messed up. Once Giovani sat down Mexico's possession dropped significantly. He took out their best players, wanted to defend and ended up paying for it.
I also won over €40,00 in bets today I correctly predicted that there would be exactly 3 goals scored, that the run of play would be lead - lose, that the Netherlands would win, that the first half would end in a draw, that both teams would score in the match, that there would be 1 penalty awarded in regular time and that Mexico would get the first yellow card. So I'm twice as happy right now
I thought Mexico was going to pull off an upset but that didn't happen. I have to give credit to the Netherlands for finding a way to win. They will basically cruise to the semi-finals easily.
Mexico have nothing to be ashamed about, they've shown the world that they're a great team worthy of the QF as well! And had they faced Greece or CR tonight, I'm sure that wouldn't have been a problem. That's football
not true. mexico struggled in the qualifiers. then they got this coach, who I think will be their coach long term.

Not to mention that the referee could have easily given the penalty to Robben twice before. Nobody can question the fact that we deserved at least one penalty this game.
Also nice to see a game without constant diving and fouling, compared to those two games yesterday where the play was constantly interrupted because there was a player on the ground. Both teams displayed sportsmanship this time

Who cares about the WCQ? France struggled as well, barely scraped past Ukraine (3-2) in the play-offs but that doesn't mean they're not a great team now.
Mexico were great in the past three matches and everyone knew they were a force to be reckoned with. They would have made it to the QF against most other teams (Greece, CR, Nigeria, Switzerland, Algeria), I'm sure.
Oh, Robben. One Day you will be booked for your diving. One Day.
