MLS and NHL is a more realistic comparison imo then the NHL and NBA. people laugh, but give the MLS 10 years and I think it could pass the NHL.

I think this is more wishful thinking than anything. It'll never happen and I say this as a soccer fan.

Hispanics like soccer more then they like hockey. With the demographic changes I see hockey and baseball dying off, with the NBA continuing to ascend. NFL of course king. I think if the MLS gets a team in Mexico things will get real interesting.

The NHL is a great sports league but the NBA is clearly a more popular and global brand.

NHL is much more popular in my house, but I think the NBA has a bigger reach...unfortunately.

In the past ten years or so the Los Angeles metro (including Orange County) has won two Stanley Cups. 99% of people in LA (the second biggest TV market) couldn't name one player on either local hockey team.
