Thread bump:
As someone from Minneapolis, I've noticed 2 appealing statistical attributes about St Louis:
1. Homes are signficantly cheaper per square foot.
2. There are more young single women in St. Louis than there are in my city (per male) St. Louis only sees a 3.6% surplus of men in the 25-40 age range whereas Minneapolis sees a 7.9% surplus.

How is St. Louis a good/bad city for this sort of thing (#2)? Anyone with a fresh perspective want to weigh in?

I originally commented ~5 years ago on page 4 and stand by my original comments. I don't think St. Louis is bad at all. It is no different to any other place at least.

I'm from St. Louis. Moved away when I was 23 and never looked back. I found it a very unfriendly place.

I agree with the OP. Not a good place for a young single person.

Most cities in the Lower Midwest/Upper South are not very good for single people like: Kansas City, St. Louis, Louisville, Cincinnati, etc.

I moved to Saint Louis a few years ago, from southern California. I hate it here. The women are all overweight single mothers.

You're obviously hanging out at the wrong places.

I can confirm that I've met many skinny or athletic childless single women here. I would consider myself pretty bad at meeting women, so if you're actually trying you should have even better luck than me.

You forgot to add Indianapolis. Definitely a different breed of woman in these cities you've mentioned compared to New England where I am from originally. And it is worse if you are a single Baby Boomer. A lost cause. Trust me.

The people here in Florida are just as bad. Lots of fat people full of tattoos and white trash. Look sound and act just like the hoosiers of the stl area they remind me of. Except for the old people but I'm not interested in old ladies lol. The trashy ones down here you could swap out for the hoosiers up there and you wouldn't notice much difference in them.

Florida does seem to attract a lot of the trashy types though move here to run away from their problems.

Most cities in general are bad places for single men with no children. If you want a woman who is single and childless as well, good luck. Between the ages of 18-35, there are more single men than single women in most cities.
