I'm taking my godson out for a day for his 4th birthday in a couple weeks. I'm a little out of touch with what is available in the St. Louis/Metro-East that someone his age would enjoy doing. He has been to the Zoo and City Museum several times so I was looking for something different. Any suggestions?

There are two metros by definition that are divided by a river. St.Louis metro in Missouri, and the East St. Louis metro in Illinois. Combined they create the St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Have you taken him to Grant's Farm? I do not know a child who does not like horses. They offer tours too. This list might help. At the bottom you can click for restaurants. St. Louis MO places to see

there is the children's science museum. near forest park. Grants Farm is great, and free! there is always the arch. the trip to the top is fairly inexpensive. great museum beneath. Since the child is young, I would consider the zoo again! the other museums in forest park are free, but may not be good to take a 4 year old. If you were heading a little west of downtown, there is Purina Farm. it is a great place.

There are some nice walking trails on campus at SIUE. We used to take the nephews out fro walks there and then stop at the A&W.
