Would you feel embarrassed? Would you be excited knowing he has deep pockets and would invest in a winner? St. Louis is an interesting city. I've heard some describe it as a Southern city because Missouri has cultural elements of the South and conservative political views.

I realize the media is making a bigger issue of this than it needs to be. Rush would only be a part owner much like the Williams sisters are part owners of the Dolphins. This translates to Rush having essentially little power and would not function like Jerry Jones.

Still I was curious, how do the residents of St. Louis view this?

I've been a Denver Broncos fan since 1981 so I personally don't care who owns the Rams, what their record is or if they pack up and move back to Los Angeles.

I think you will find that among major cities, St. Louis has one of the highest percentages of citizens that are fans of out-of-town teams. This goes back to the disillusion of the mismanaged football Cardinals.

Having said that, I personally don't see the problem with Rush Limbaugh owning anything. He's a Missouri native and a self-made man, and this wouldn't be an issue if the short-sighted libs weren't so spiteful towards anyone reaping the benefits of a capitalist society and not subscribing to a socialist agenda. Rush is not a racist. Liberals make more issues with exploiting race issues than anyone. Funny how no one made a stink when Jay-Z, whose rap lyrics say some horrible things about blacks, purchased a share of the New Jersey Nets.

Rush is an idiot, though if he wants to waste his money on the Rams... have at it big boy.

PS- St. Louis, as a whole, is actually a more liberal city... as is Columbia and Kansas City. It is the more outlaying rural areas of Missouri that tend to keep our state red.

I like the idea, not because Limbaugh has signed on, but because his partner is the current owner of the Blues. I like what has been done with this organization in terms of investment in young talent and commitment to the city, so I hope they can do the same thing with the Rams.

He has every legal right to put in a bid to purchase a share of the team, and no one should try to "stop" him from putting in a bid ... but with that being said, personally I can't stand him. He's a shock jock (and one that I disagree with on almost everything, at that ).

I long for the days when the Rams were an NFL powerhouse. The "Greatest Show on Turf" era was very exciting and if you remember the 90's Rams they were almost as lackluster as they are now (keyword: almost). So with the right management it is certainly possible to turn the team around and have a top NFL team again. Dave Checketts has done amazing things for the Blues and St. Louisans should be forever greatful he saved our great hockey franchise and made Blues hockey exciting again.

That being said, Limbaugh has a terrible case of foot in mouth that follows him anytime he does anything besides his radio show. He also seems to have a very big ego and that he wouldn't be satisfied being just another behind the scenes kind of guy. Then there is the issue of the large amount of African American football players who wouldn't be thrilled playing for a guy who they perceive as a racist, and it just seems like the Rams would have a PR nightmare that distracts from football.

My main point is even if you love Rush you cannot deny he is a polarizing figure. Millions of people love him and millions of people absolutely hate him. I don't know if I want this type of person to play a large role in St. Louis' football team. I also don't like that St. Louis might be associated with far right wing politics, since as Carrie mentioned, we are a liberal city with a mixture of liberal and conservative suburbs. So I honestly hope someone else buys the team and keeps them here, but if it came down to someone wanting to buy them and move them, or Rush owning a piece of the St. Louis Rams, I would choose Rush owning part of the team.

Honestly, I tend to lean more left, but I wouldn't have a problem with Rush owning the Rams as long as they stayed in St Louis.

I have listened to Rush ever since he hit the airwaves. I usually agree with about 90% of what he says.
One thing I think I have heard him criticize are cities that fund new stadiums for sports teams. I am not positive about this though. I sure would like to hear how he feels about that issue if he does become a part owner of the team.
