I think that there are just a lot of bitter people who relocated and didnt get their expectations met.
Why they dont do something to correct their situation is what I dont understand.

Did I mention... it's Chicago? And quite honestly, I think higher of Chicago than I do of NJ.

If the NorthEast was so great, why are so many people from there coming here?

check this chart:

State Median Income - Income Data - U.S Census Bureau

Florida Current annual wage average: $46k....NJ: $66 thats a whopping 30% less, hows that for FACTS!

Like I said, bring on the $35k jobs that people up north get paid $65 k for. We pay some corporation a few million to tear down our beautiful states, screw us all on wages and pack up and leave on any remote downturn in the economy. Thanks Northerners!

Now its 30 percent, earlier you stated 50% and also 33%.

Lets take 30 percent because that is what your table indicates.

On a $66,000 salary thats $20k a year difference between here and there.

In NJ
$66,000 salary
$2,000.00 goes to state income tax.
$7,885.00 goes to property tax.
$2,000.00 goes to heating oil.
$2,465.00 is the average Car Insurance in New Jersey.

Total of these costs: $14,600 (approx)

In FL
$46,000.00 salary
$0.00 State income tax
$2,000.00 property tax
$500.00 for heating cost
$1,704 Average Car Insurance in Florida

Total of these costs: $4,200.00 (approx)

$$ left over after paying out on listed costs:

NJ: $51,500.00

FL: $42,000.00

Now that 30 percent difference is more like 20%.

I am certain that if we added in utility costs, food costs, gasoline cost, etc. the difference between the two states would much closer. After all, as stated earlier NJ is among the costliest states to live in, ranking first in housing costs.

I am sure you will dispute these numbers, but that is what they are.

Its not nice to label posters as "trolls" when they are providing facts instead of simple opinions an using charts that do not take in account the difference in the costs of living.

Seriously, everything you type is utter and complete you know what. Why you never get banned for TROLLING, well I have my suspicions

And for troll 2...

Some of us have tried many times to tell him our situations. Whether it's career, military, lack of money, whatever. He still continues to have trouble getting his head around the notion that some people who don't like Florida, but for whatever reason, they don't or can't leave. Then people like you who really want to move here don't want to hear anything negative about their future home and start chiming in against anyone who could dare have a negative thing to say about their paradise.

Do you understand? Do you see where I'm going With this? I've noticed you have been vocal against anyone with something negative to say about the area. So consider this since you don't live here.

BTW, Good luck with your relocation. I sincerely wish you the best.

That's right. I state it a lot. There are no excuses for living in "hell". You do what you have to do to live happily. You sell everything you own, you get a part time job to finance the re-relocation. There is no career that I can think of that would make me stay in a place I could not stand except the military and as far as I am aware there is only one person here in that situation.

The main complaints from the disenchanted are: It's too hot, low pay, rednecks, high taxes, high cost of living, rude people, no jobs, old people, no mountains, lousy restaurants, lousy water, lack of community.

No one has ever expressed their "situation" here however the moaning and groaning continue without end. Seems smme posters spend an inordinate about of time finding and stating the least bit of negative information that can be found.

I can understand that some people don't like Florida, that is not what I have difficulty with comprehending. Staying and posting nonsense forever on however does escape my understanding.

The perceived "negatives" usually have no backing. Yeah, it's hot, its the south. Yeah, the jobs pay less but it is offset from other benefits. Taxes are not high, but that could be dependent on where one lives or where they came from. The only tax there is would be property tax and sales tax. Car registrations cost no matter where you go. The rest is poppycock.

What I never see an answer to is WHY DID YOU COME HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

There is no company that would force an employee to change their living situation and transfer an employee to a place that they would find undesirable and impossible for them to live in.
What company in their right mind would subject an employee to such a fate? The resulting unhappy employee would be a detriment to their goals.

If potential re-locaters do their due diligence to understand how life in general operates here and understands things like sinkholes, floods, automobile impact charges, etc. they would have little or no problem once they got here and lived here for a while.

This state continues to draw people from all over the world. It has grown to the 4th largest state in the union. The state must be doing something right to continue drawing residents.

That is why I say if you don't like it feel free to leave because they are free to leave if they put as much effort into leaving here as they did in getting here.

Paradise is a state of mind, not a place.

Have some cajones instead of being a wimp and direct your comments about my postings directly to me instead of through a third party.
