Houston put itself in this situation in the late '70s early '80s. Dallas being the proactive city it is...and was back then decided that Dallas in the FUTURE would need a public train system....because all of the major big cities grew into needing one....Houston on the other hand said oh Dallas is crazy for even thinking this makes sense. We are a bigger city and we don't think we need to spend the money on something we don't need...Dallas is Crazy.

Time Passes(elevator music)

Dallas was crazy enough to push until the door opened...1996 opened the first line in Texas.

At that time Houston was still Hating..saying Dallas is pretentious ...It's not needed etc....While Houston was building all of this riff-Raff EVERYWHERE....

Dallas expanded our system pretty quickly and eventually Houston smelled the coffee and tried to grow a passion for forward-thinking but IT WAS TOO LATE....They had built all of that clutter everywhere and it was hard to figure out what made sense. They had to rush together a plan when it was time to push for funding.

Dallas was already almost the largest system... Or... the plans to be were already in place. So our request was organized and believable.

Houston's request was all over the place...That's why they always got crumbs when Dallas got the LOAF.

Planning BRT lines instead of SUBWAY lines.

Adding MORE BUSES instead of MODERN street Car lines and Trolleys.

Bragging on bus service instead of announcing new LR lines coming...

Oh but Houston's Public transportation system is WAAAAY better than Dallas'......

Lol...

The issue with your ESSAY is that...NO ONE IS DENYING THIS.

We Houstonians ALREADY KNOW that we are FARRRR behind with our rail system.

We are NOT arguing against that. It's the TRUTH and we ACCEPT IT. Dallas' system is much more superior to Houston's. WE GET IT. It's like you WANT us to be MAD about it...but we're just NOT.

THAT BEING SAID...

NONE of what you just spouted takes away from the point that DESPITE HOW "SUPERIOR" and "LARGER" your precious train system is...IT'S RIDERSHIP IS PATHETIC, and the fact that another line is being built DESPITE THE CITY KNOWING RIDERSHIP IS PATHETIC only PROVES that this is simply a VANITY PROJECT...while Houston's system, despite being "Inferior" is actually being USED for what it's SUPPOSED to be used for, while our BUS system is FAR superior to anything in Texas, and gets the job done.

Anything ELSE?

..That whole paragraph is Delusion at its best.

Ridership is like the Trinity River that goes through downtown...When it rains HEAVY it looks like A REAL RIVER.....But when July hits ...You can't even find it.....But are the levies NEEDED when it's so dry and cant be found????...YES...Because it will rain HEAVY AGAIN...And it will fill up to the BRIM....

Bwahahahahahaha!!!

Your delusion is getting even further out of hand

You said that word "AGAIN" as if it ever happened IN THE FIRST PLACE. DART NEVER had even REMOTELY decent ridership, and it's EVEN WORSE now.

Grasping at those STRAWS again, eh?

And this folks, is how your government wastes money and exactly why the country is $33T in debt. Far too many people happy with wasting taxpayer dollars when it leads to nothing more than hollow bragging rights?

Anyone wondering why this country is going down the tubes as a whole? Look no further than this posts and the ones like it. Ridership doesn't matter. Wow. Nothing else left to say.

This dude LITERALLY contorted his lips to actually say that "Ridership Means Nothing". DEBATE OVER

What's REALLY sad is that he doesn't even REALIZE that he just confirmed that the whole project is a vanity item by saying that, lol.

Because if RIDERSHIP ON THE LARGEST RAIL SYSTEM IN TEXAS DOESN'T MATTER...THEN WHAT IN THE HELL IS IT FOR???

Sad!!

Just because a person never mentions the humidity doesn't mean its a lie.

Houstonians have a problem with acknowledging the obvious....I guess they feel like if they don't talk about it...it doesn't exist.

Dallas is supposed to lose every comparison to Houston....No matter what?

Even if its too evident that Dallas won...Yall group together to figure out a way to discredit the win.

Mr.Clutch...You would understand Dallas more if you came up here OPENLY without the HOUSTON HATES DALLAS Back-Pack on......Just leave it at the Hotel.
LOL. I come to Dallas 4-5 times a year to visit friends and family. And I used to live there. I know all about Dallas tbh.

So, you don't use DART, but think its the best thing since sliced bread because its a lengthy system.

You don't shop at Kuhl-Linscomb (and have likely never been there), but you automatically have recommendations for something in Dallas that's similar to it, despite the fact that people that actually do shop there telling you there's nothing similar in Dallas.

You are clearly the person that cannot take the idea that there are a lot of things that Houston is better at than Dallas or things that Houston has that Dallas does not. That's not spacecity or oil capital - its you. I'm not sure how someone can be so insecure about a city that has as much going for it as Dallas, but somehow you manage to do it. Every. Single. Day.

These are both great cities that are good at many things. But there will never be a day where one wins at everything. They are both simply too big, dynamic, and well rounded for that. Each will continue to innovate in different things and be better than everyone, including each other, at different things.

You need to accept that. These debates are cute, but if we're all being 100% honest, its just entertainment. You're not a particularly formidable opponent when it comes to actual debate and winning with facts.

...WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok.....Luxury shopping and Transportation are two things of so many...That Dallas is clearly ahead in...

Those are the threads that I GO HAM in .......That's why my words hit harder because YOU and all the rest of the HOUSTONIANS can't stand to have no argument...So then I become Insecure TO YALL....

The Khul Linscom thing was a JAB at Dallas from the O.P....I just tried to help by actually finding something similar in Dallas....Just in case it was a GENUINE question.

But of course just because I tried to help Im automatically labeled as someone who won't let Houston win at ANYTHING!!......When Actuallity the O.P. was REALLY pointing out that Houston has something Dallas doesn't....I even announced in that thread that Houston Has A lot of things that can't be found in Dallas......And how that is what makes cities DIFFERENT!....But ok...if you say so.....

But nope..BRT it is....FOH!!!!!
