In the context of this thread (growth), it would be "winning"

Even though I lived in Killeen for several years, I'm not a huge fan. It's still growing at an amazing rate and seems to be keeping up with said growth.

Never denied that lol

I was in Killeen pretty much every week when I lived in Waco. I know that place like the back of my hand.

Isn't the Killeen-Temple area already called the Centroplex?

Waco/Temple is most certainly a wasteland of zombie Christian types.

It's known by that name locally, but it hasn't really caught on statewide. I tell people elsewhere in the state about the Centroplex and they look at me like "huh?"

Yeah, living in Houston a long time, I made a visit to Dallas. Imagine my surprise when they kept talking about the metroplex... I kept wondering, On what planet? I had lived in Dallas a couple of decades prior to Houston. They didn't even refer to the place as north Texas at the time.

I think local monikers are just that... local.

Back in 2003 (when I didn't know any better), I stopped for gas and lunch in Waco on my way to Frisco. Oh man, Will never make that mistake again!!
