definitely Houston. Dallas has a Billionaire or two more than Houston (in 2013 Dallas had 11, Houston had 10. i cant find individual city stats for last year), but lets face it. that one billionaire doesnt outweigh the tens of thousands more millionaires in Houston over Dallas.

heh. the 30k millionaire is more reference to people who try to appear to be lavish while living beyond their means. not that they have a higher quality of life (Houston ranks higher than Dallas in that regard as well).

classier social environment? i dont know what you mean by social environment, or consider classy. it depends.

heh.. Houston doesnt have zoning, so its more of a mish mash of places. very diverse. Dallas is much more segregated and does a "better job" at keeping the poor out of sight/not giving reasons for outsiders to visit the run down areas.

Thanks Texas Tall, I appreciate your input!

By the way the reason I started a new thread is because in every other thread people started arguing over weather or public schools and the information was not helpful for anyone. This thread is intended to stay on mainly ONE topic, WEALTH.

Hopefully, considering wealth has more to do with numbers, there can not be much room for controversy in this thread.

Thanks Again TexasTall!

I can't agree with you there. Dallas is NOTHING like Memphis. NOTHING. That's one of the biggest insults to Dallas this almost 10 year long thread has produced yet...lol.

Once you've uncovered the facts (heh...) about who has the wealth, you should start a topic to find out where they keep that wealth hidden. In Dallas. Houston, or elsewhere.

Temp43, that's exactly what I am wondering. Every thread on the Houston/Dallas topic makes it seem like Houston has money/tall buildings and then a ghetto lying beneath...indicating the wealth is not lingering on the streets of Houston?

I am just wondering if Houston is one of those major cities that do not appear upscale because the wealthy skip town to blow their money. Just FYI, I have never been to Houston, so I am basing my impression from hearsay.

Who really cares which city is more wealthy? Oh yeah... a few of you do. Sorry, I forgot. How about which city has more toy dog breeds vs. large dog breeds? I think that's vastly more important.
