My problem is with people that use two feet to drive an automatic.They are allways the ones that have "the car went out of control" problems.They allways have cars that "go out of control" up on a sidewalk,into a restaurant,through an intersection.You see them,....brake lights on and off,going the same speed.
This will never end until there is a left foot pedal that has to be depressed to make a car go.This driver panicked and floored the gas and brake at the same time.That's what 2 foot drivers do.
Blame the floor mat if you want to.

I would be extremely worried about buying a Toyota-built car, not because this is an easy problem to get around, but because they allowed such a thing to happen in the first place.
Why are people still buying . . . , Revelated?

I ask that question frequently. Especially every time I witness more problems with my neighbor's Highlander Hybrid . . . mostly electrical. Granted covered by warranty and the dealership is fairly nearby, however, the inconvenience and grief would scare me. Also, the gas mileage is far lower than promised and way overrated.

And it also doesn't apply to all 2-foot drivers. I have been one for 30 years and have never lost control of a car.

Thats the same story with EVERY Fortune 500 company. And by the way, the Big 3 gave up their private jets, some their salaries, and Rick Wagoner was let go by the Socialist morons we have in office.

GM= Government Motors.

Lets all be proud!

GM would not have needed the bail out if they had had a clue for the last 35 years.

True. But look back 35 years ago at what Honda and Toyota were making. J-U-N-K. The Big 3 turned their back on quality (in some areas) for awhile, while the Japanese tried their hardest and succeeded (minus several examples). Now the Japanese are using crappy materials and turning their back on quality while the Americans are scrutinizing and making big changes. Just go sit in a new Taurus, youll be blown away. THe fit and finish is impeccable, much better than any Toyota Ive seen (minus Lexus). And unlike the Japanese, the materials they used are soft-touch and very aesthetic. Toyota and Honda make appliances.

^ That has nothing to do with what I commented on.

That being said, the Japanese built on what they started and ended up making decent products that the world bought. Meanwhile, GM, Chrysler and Ford fell into a malaise that they may never dig out of.

I have always liked Fords, but have not had great experience with some. I too, think that Ford is ahead of the other domestics in offering more quality products. It remains to be seen if they can sustain it and surpass the Asian brands.

Proof bean counters should never run a car company when up until the 70's it was always the engineers that got promoted and ran GM. HMMMM, Now who ran GM better? Let engineers design what they can and run the company, you get better products and the customers.

So?

I don't know how this bum all of a sudden became such a martyr after he was canned. When he was CEO, the press was certainly critical of his performance.
