I usually go every year or every other year to Hawaii (switch usually between Maui and the BI) for 1 week in January. Yes it comes with a premium price. I would say (at least for me) the airfare is probably $120-$250 more to go in the winter, and hotels and car rentals are a bit more. I prefer it because I'm happy just spending most of the year just hanging out in the pool.
