This is so sad. Such a beautiful little boy. The dad apparently wasn't watching his son and he shouldn't have had a seven year old shooting a gun to start with. The dad has to live with this the rest of his life.
One of my neighbors was a big time hunter. All kinds of weapons. He was deer hunting in the lower part of our state and shot a man across through the woods. He got to the guy and was holding him in his arms ... the guy said "it wasn't your fault buddy." The man died in his arms.
He came home and got rid of every rifle, shotgun, pistol, bullet, shell he had. My neighbor went crazy ... a nervous breakdown ... sitting in a rocking chair in the bedroom staring out the window. He was institutionalized and has never been the same since that accident.
I can only imagine what this father will go through.

all my children have been handling and shooting firearms since age 4 under my supervision.
my 2 younger daughters at home have their own firearms that they can use and use responsibly. they also know the responsibility and dangers of having and using a firearm.
just so you know, I am a certified firearms instructor and range master. my daughters have all had the best training I could provide or buy for them if I could not train it to them.

Why does a 4-year-old need to handle and shoot firearms? Riding a big wheel, playing in a sandbox, learning to swim, etc. wasn't exciting enough? I'm sorry, but that sounds really extreme and irresponsible to me, putting a gun in a small child's hands, supervised or not.

and you should be reported. to protective services, the police, etc.
allowing very small children handle guns. THOSE GROUNDS.

You'd have no grounds. And unfortunately because of the way the law is written he'd have no recourse for you filing a false report.

Oh, have you ever been on a farm? Where 6 year olds drive a tractor. Or in a state where 12 year olds can take said tractor, or other motorized farm vehicle, on the roads?
