I just saw a City Confidential epi on this murder, and researched to find that he was denied parole in 2012. The article says he won't be eligible for parole for another 15 years so it will be around 2027 before he can apply again.
I wonder if they have done DNA on this case, or if they had any samples that could be tested? I'm pretty sure he did it but DNA confirmation would be nice.

Isn't it amazing that I never heard of those guys (despite being an avid student of contemporary history and crime for decades).
I wonder why that story was wormholed.....(as if we don't know).
I believe the question was "most famous". so many around here, but no one thought to mention the murder of JFK?? To me that is the most famous.
