Why are some you of posters comparing Nyc & L.A to Chicago homicide rate ? Unfortunately New York has been shut down by the government & police.More police than anywhere in the country.
Los Angeles also shut down with Gang units,Sherriffs,Enhancements,Injunctions & 3 strike laws. LAPD also the highest paid force in the country,Due to the serious amount of gangs in Los Angeles. Chicago's Black population is larger than Los Angeles at this point, so in a nutshell that's the sad truth.But 20 years ago America was s different animal and despite what's going on today, Nyc,L.A,Chi were all way worse in the 90s.

It's cold every year in Montreal and has been since the city has existed. There are murders in the winter in Montreal just like there are in Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Buffalo, Minneapolis, etc.
There is a reason why in EVERY SINGLE CITY in north america, homicides spike come spring... in 2013, NYC had many days without a single murder due to the cold... So you are the silly one... People do not have the will to stay outside when it is like -20 + windchill thus feeling like -40 with icy side walk, freezing noses and stuff... but I can care less about what you think
