So Bronx is safer than Denver these days? Wow. New York has went under a tremendous transformation over the last 10-15 years.

Oakland and SF still have less murders than San Jose? I thought by now they'd pass them up for sure but wow, we're halfway into March and they're still this low.

The Bronx is starting to see a lot of new residential development, since people are getting priced out of Brooklyn and Queens.

Well there are other factors people should consider as well before they get too cocky walking around the city. NY still has a higher violent crime rate than Denver and even LA. Robbery and aggravated assault rates are higher in NY. There's also the random slashings in the city. There were 381 slashings and stabbings in about a month. Some were even in Midtown Manhattan.

And if you were to go off metro area NYC's robbery rate is twice Denver's.

Yeah it's definitely better. Of the 25 largest cities NY also had the highest robbery rate. There was 1 robbery for every 72 people. Over 100k a year or 1,370/100k. Equaled out to a robbery every 5 minutes.
