I wanted to start a thread that focuses on the positives of Tucson. Whether your a current or former Tucson resident what about Tucson or the areas surrounding it makes you love it?

I have only been to Tucson once myself, and I was very young so don't remember it to well. You hear a lot of negatives about it, but there are enough threads focusing on the bad. So I'd like to hear the positives and the things that draw you to the area.

And yes I know all about the search function, but I wanted to start a thread of my own regarding this.

- the always shining Sun
- the pretty blue skies
- the warmth
- the foothills around the city

Pretty much Mother Nature's work only.

I can't wait to see some thunderstorms this summer. The weather, the sun, the mountains, the food, the rugged beauty. People have been nothing but nice to me at the school, stores, banks etc that we've been to. The places to see around here are great too. Each weekend we've done something as a family to explore around here. Saguaro National Park, The Childrens Museum, Reid Park Zoo, Pima Air and Space Museum, Mt. Lemmon/Summerhaven, and Tombstone etc. I think this coming weekend there is Family Fun day in Rita Ranch and also we're hoping to hit the Sonoran Desert museum.

Mi_Mom, where did you move from? I'm just curious to know where people who like it come from.

I see. You froze enough. Haven't been there, but I've heard Ann Arbor is quite a cute town.

LOL It has it's moments. The influx of students can drive one batty in the fall though.

I also lived in Northern MI. Talk about freezing. Right in the snowbelt. Summers there were very, very short but winters were filled with snowmobiling etc to keep ya busy.

I find myself looking for the good things to appreciate in places I've lived. Which isn't much.

Heck, I can even say I lived in Hell MI for a spell. And yes, it does freeze over.
