I know there are a few bead shops in OKC and one that holds 'art' classes on how to bead. Check out the Spiral Beadery or Bohemian Spirit Vintage Wares & Wearables on Western Ave. They will probably be able to tell you about products and possibly if there is any interest in your area. Here is the shopping guide on Western Ave. It should have the merchants and lots of other info like maps and events...

Ummm, there are bead shops in Tulsa and even they may not know whether one would do well in Owasso... How on earth could a bead shop in OKC know better?

In answer to the question, I am not sure. Bead shops can generally cater to several demographics. Often young and sometimes the "hipster" type crowd. There are a lot of kids/teens in Owasso I presume. But that area tends to be more evangelical Christian than hipster. So if you were to open a store there it might be good to have some Christian themed beads, presentations etc. Glass beads from the Holy Land, crosses, fishes, beads made from date seeds, olive cores,,,, anything with a biblical reference that evangelical Christians would key in on. Young people of any type like feeling cool and hip, and being creative making things. If you can have a section in the store that caters to the Christian kids I think that would be a great seller in that area and word would spread.

Default Yes to Owasso!

Well, I would be interested. And I know I have 2 friends who would also be interested. As it is now, I have to drive to Tulsa for my beads. I'd like to be able to shop in my home town. Thing is, if you do this, you'll need a great selection to outdo the Tulsa stores. I think Alouette is the best one in Tulsa for selection and ease of shopping (it's not a crowded tiny little shop). If you can open up a nice store with a great selection to outdo the competition, then your store should draw the customers.
