Arya and Tyrion are the only (POV) characters I find interesting. Sophie Turner, the girl playing Sansa is beautiful -- unfortunately she's playing a pathetic character, oh how much I would like to engage in a diarrhetic judgmental abuse of Sansa, but I shan't.
I fear, so far, that the show will cut a lot of things out -- details I find that give the books depth, like tertiary characters. I hope they get a bigger budget for the second series, more episodes with more exploration of the world/characters.
I must admit, I was so wrong thinking that Dinklage may not be able to pull off playing Tyrion.
Dinklage is a brilliant actor. I've seen him in several movies and TV shows, and even when the story itself is not that great, Dinklage steals every scene he's in.

I had the same concerns and ate crow after the second episode. He just owns the screen when he's on it. Tyrion is one of my favorite literary characters and he is getting all the subtlety to the role. This may be the role of a life time for him.
I feel like the episodes are getting better and better. I LOVED the end of the episode where Catlyn accuses Tyrion, that's one of my favorite parts in the book too.
Question: I always pronounced Catlyn like Cate-lynn, but I thought I heard someone in the show pronounce it as Cat (as in the animal)-lynn. Did anyone else pick up on this? This is always a point of contension with my SO and I. He always pronounces the characters names differently than me! Like I thought Arya was said Ar-ya (short y) and he thought it was Ar-eea... he was right it turns out But he got Daneareys wrong so we're even!

I've heard Martin pronounce a lot of these names in interviews, and they are completely different than the way I heard them in my head reading the book.
CATE-lynn and Tair-GAIR-ee-en still sounds wrong to me, but that's the way he says them.
