I'm with you on "haters" -- although it might be in literature going back a ways, I really don't remember it being used in common conversation much more than the past 10 years! Sounds very modern to me.
Yes, it's usage on the show sounded too modern to me.
I wonder if Mary will be prepared to show her sketches, if anyone asks.
Ooooh… if this were the first season, I could see a lot of sniping going back and forth between Mary and Edith, each one trying to figure out what the other has been up to. But now… they've both been through so much… Still, Cora could alway make a totally innocent comment. BTW, has anyone EVER seen Mary sketching??
There were no answers that I could see tonight, just more confusion. I'll wait until others have seen it.
I just watched it I think the writers are setting the groundwork for about 4-5 different parts of the story line....(surely JF has a a whole team of writers who flesh out his ideas....)
I thought it was a good episode and didn't perceive it as confusion. The rest of the season will be playing out these parts of story. Julian Fellowes knows what he's doing, rest assured.
Well, tonight's episode was a whirl of intrigue. There is so much going on that I almost started taking notes.
Without any spoilers, I'm going to watch it over since I'm sure there's details I missed. And if your pbs station had Manorly Speaking, its cool too.
