Mark Burnett is the Exectutive Producer of Survivor.
FWIW Jeff Probst is one of the working producers of the show and is also an ordained minister, probably the reason for the religious aspect of the show.
There are 18 players listed in this article, which would be nine per tribe. Is that the normal number, if such a thing exists?
I was wondering the same thing. Did a little searching, last season had 18 members, 16 new and 2 returning. I haven't looked at the pictures of this seasons players, I did look at the names, none looked familiar. Lets hope.
I think there will be 20 and they are keeping the returners on the downlow. That's just my suspicion based upon the total inability of Hollywood to just go back to a good formula, and the eternal wish for more tractable, coachable people so they can get the dramacitas they want.
So the question is: will it be third-time retreads who are getting to play this over and over until they win, or will it be at least some retreads we haven't seen retreaded? I will probably have to settle for hoping for the latter. With my luck, I'll get Russhole and Coach with "Russhole here to avenge his nephew". Basically, professional wrestling scripts played out on a beach with coconuts and raw fish. All we need now is Probst to adopt the exaggerated tones of WCW Nitro announcers: "Omigawd! What is The Coach gonna do now?"
Leaving the producers alone with the Survivor formula and hoping for them not to twiddle with it is like leaving your 12-year-old daughter alone with your diary and telling her she must not read it. Try that.
