It seems like most TV series are directed at an urban audience who appreciate the sarcasm and irony. I suppose I would prefer shows directed at a 50-and-older demographic, but they are getting scare as hen's teeth!

Except for The Following, I don't watch a single show on broadcast television. Three of my 4 favorite dramas are on the FX channel and I wish The Following was there, too.

I sometimes watch Matlock on INSP. It is lame-o!
I like to watch Bluebloods! I think it aims for an older demographic. Donnie Wahlberg seems to be a PG-version of his younger brother Mark.

TV is like the "super buffet" at the local Chinese-American restaurant - a lot of "dishes" to choose from, but at least 80 percent of the ingredients are the same.

Mouldy, did you ever watch Friday Night Lights? It is not urban at all and it covers young and older demographics. As Tim Riggins would say, "Texas forever." The series was an underappreciated masterpiece.

I don't watch these shows, but I dont' think that The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad have urban settings. Many older folks do like these shows.

Come to think of it, my favorite TV show may be Wheel of Fortune!

I love The Americans, but it has an urban setting. It takes place in the DC area, but is really filmed in NYC. I think the prime target age for this show would be 40 give or take a few, although certainly other ages will appreciate it.
