I wish those of you who cannot see Gracepoint outside of its "I liked it better when it was Broadchurch" context would start a "Broadchurch was so much better than its pale, loathsome imitator Gracepoint" thread.
Because you've become tiresome. And I don't give a single turd about your vaunted Broadchurch, a show I never watched and now never will watch. Not one.
I agree. I've not seen Broadchurch and I don't care about the comparisons.
This show is bad on it's own merits, it doesn't need to be compared to a better show to point that out.
After watching tonight's episode I'm going to take my first guess as to who killed Danny. I will say that
Spoiler
Miller's husband, Joe, did it. For no good reason other than every character is acting suspiciously and holding secrets, whereas he's the only normal one who has no visible neurosis. Therefore, he's guilty.
I think the pacing is very slow. If it were a novel I would have skipped the middle and just gone to the end. As it is, I'm going to have to stick it out.
Among other annoyances, I find it strange that Danny's mother never brushes her hair, not even for a press conference.
The Mom is pregnant...with whose baby? Obviously something went on way-back-when with the minister. Probably a high school romance? For some reason I'm thinking Mom and minister had a recent hook-up and it could be his baby. Anyone else thinking along these lines?
I believe she tells husband about pregnancy next week. Should be interesting. Maybe she'll brush her hair after that?! LOL

I guess I am in the minority. I think Gracepoint is unusually well-done for an American series, almost on the level of The Killing which I really do miss . The majority of the acting is fine , not as adept as Broadchurch , but much better than most shows on American television & yes, I agree that a few of the male actors look so much alike that it is difficult to tell them apart.
