I didn't know who she was either. Doesn't matter. She was out of place. That time should have been devoted to all the players, not to Tai... and certainly not to a bimbo who showed up uninvited.
.
We have talked a lot about editing. So my question is Was her appearance truly spontaneous or planned all along.

I first saw Sia on Jimmy Fallon in January. I LOVE the song "Iko Iko" so I wanted to watch. I wondered why Sia had a big bow on and that stupid wig. But.... I haven't heard any of her other songs. I listen to Sirius in the car and Pandora at home, and my channels don't play Sia.

I wondered the same thing. They could have edited out her sudden appearance. Am I the only one who considers her personal check to Tai totally inappropriate?
I bet this won't be the first, I have a feeling we are going to see several more celebrity fans making their "guest" appearance on future finale nights and awarding their favorite a monetary prize.
Yeah giving him a check is ridiculous. That it was spontaneous is also ridiculous. In fact, the entire 'reunion' show was ridiculous. haha Word of the day.
And this Sia is awful. Cannot see the appeal of her or her voice, autotune ftw.
If production didn't want this Sia person on stage, she doesn't get on stage. They're prepared for stuff like that. It insults our intelligence when they try to pretend it's spontaneous. I agree that it was a lousy reunion show. They don't have to catch up with everyone who was in the game, but Probst needs to ask the players questions about the game and its aftermath for them. One wants to know how the medevacked people made out, what people were thinking at key moments, what was the truth behind this or that. Don't care about Cochbite, or whoever else is in the crowd.
About the editing, they did the same thing on the Amazing Race this past season. They barely covered the winners, didn't give us their back story, and only showed them arguing with each other in 1 episode. And then boom, they won the last leg.
I hope this kind of "gotcha" editing is not going to be a trend. While it was pretty easy to tell who was going to win in recent seasons, I felt it gave a good story that viewers can follow.
