Maybe they're tourists. There are lots more tourists than marauders today, perhaps the same is true in the future.
Perhaps they want to mine our garbage dumps to recover the rare metals tossed out with billions of outmoded cell phones.
Or they're harvesting pollution and carbon dioxide to terraform some other planet.

Aliens are demons. They are the 1/3 that were cast down.

Take our yardstick for the measurement of distances in space: the light year. If we turn on a powerful flashlight on Earth pointing toward a distant planet and they do the same at the exact nanosecond we turn our on, we would see their light the second they saw our light. If it would take a million years to get to us, it would take a million years for our light to get to them. They would probably use a different yardstick, but the actual length of time would be the same for both of us.
Did an alien tell you they use a different time? How do you know they did not get their measurements from watching too much of our TV?

That's the basic plot of the Strugatsky brothers' "Roadside Picnic":
Quote:
A picnic. Picture a forest, a country road, a meadow. Cars drive off the country road into the meadow, a group of young people get out carrying bottles, baskets of food, transistor radios, and cameras. They light fires, pitch tents, turn on the music. In the morning they leave. The animals, birds, and insects that watched in horror through the long night creep out from their hiding places. And what do they see? Old spark plugs and old filters strewn around... Rags, burnt-out bulbs, and a monkey wrench left behind... And of course, the usual mess—apple cores, candy wrappers, charred remains of the campfire, cans, bottles, somebody’s handkerchief, somebody’s penknife, torn newspapers, coins, faded flowers picked in another meadow.
|
The aliens are the picnickers, we're the animals watching in horror.

I try to think of anything in the future will be driven by what we know now. Of course, that assumption can be wrong because you know what they say when we assume! There is always a catch when we attempt to do good. Somebody will want to alter or change or profit. Nothing is ever simple.
If you spend energy to come here; you will want something in return. If it is an alien race that is fleeing imminent destruction; they would probably want a new home. If it is people from the future, they would know their past, and try to alter what they felt was wrong or profit from their trips to the past. I just don't believe things happen without a reason for them to happen.

And...you know this how?
So, Mr Alien is going along, minding his own business, when someone else (you) comes along and blows him out of his spacecraft because they have been told (and believed) that Mr Alien is a demon and bad guy.
Thats a bit unfair when no-one really knows Mr Alien and dont know whether he IS a bad guy or not, and they CERTAINLY dont know if he is a demon or not(whatever they are).
Classifying something as a demon when you dont know, and just because he LOOKS and ACTS different to you, does not make him a demon. A being without emotions (as computers or robots also do not have) means they cannot make a judgement based on many of the same criteria you and I use in our daily lives. We have morals and behaviours which are deemed acceptable by the society in which we live, but a being without emotions does not have that added ability.
I believe the universe has many different beings in it, and only a few are humanoid with human attributes. Making one thing "bad" and another thing "good" only serves to divide us against each other rather than promoting love and unity which is what religion should be doing.
Think about that before you call us aliens "demons" again please.
