Day Care Cost? (Camas or Vancouver)
We are trying factor in all cost of living we can think of if we have to move to WA. We are considering Camas or Vacouver area. We have two little angle in age of 3 and 5 (in Kindergarten). I am working full time and the same with my husband. Wondering what the day care cost is like there?

It's going to be fairly expensive just about anywhere. I live in Centralia, WA and pay about $400 a month for my full time guy and about $140 for my part time school girl.

That is cheap!!!!
I pay $850 a month for full time for my 3 year old and $990 a month for full my 8 month old. That is at Kindercare which is one of the top daycares in Washington State. They have them in Vancouver.

I can't believe that working parents are expected to cough up that kind of money!! It's not even worth it to work at some jobs for those costs! The average family needs two incomes just to survive and then to have to spend that much on daycare? It breaks my heart.
I suppose another option would be to find a friend or family member that would do it for cheaper. I tried that and it was cheaper, but not near as dependable. I don't like the idea of in-home daycare centers either. I know there are some good ones out there, but it seems as if they land on the news a lot.

Well to be honest - Daycare is only 10% of our household income - so it hurts but it's doable

Wow! thank you guys. I couldn't beleive how much some of you guys paying for the daycare. I am currently paying $400-500 a montth full time for my 3 years old $280 - 350 a month part ime for my 5 years old. I am paying by week, so it is the same amount from month to month. The daycare provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner (but dinner is extra). It is extra by hour if kids are there longer than 10 hours. I rarely keep them longer than 10 hours but it help when I stucked in the traffic.
