Any easy vegan cookies or brownies that are fool proof? (soy, chocolate)

OK I have a confession to make. I am a horrible vegan baker. I have tried several vegan brownie recipes and they all turn out oily and awful.
Same with cookies.
I need to bake 2 deserts for the reception following my daughters confirmation on Sunday. Each parent was asked to bake 2 deserts. I am not a strict vegan nor is my daughter, but I am leaning that way and my son is very strict.

Any good recipes? Anything no-bake would be wonderful - I hate to heat up the house this time of year.

if you search google for "vegan chocolate chip cookies" the first one that should come up is "happy vegan chocolate chip cookies" on vegweb, by far the simplest and best vegan chocolate chip cookie recipe, though I've found that I use closer to 1 1/2 cups of flour instead of 2. and for easy vegan brownies, use a box brownie mix, most are vegan as they are mostly just flour and sugar, then use plain soy yogurt in place of the eggs, 1/4 cup = one egg. I love to add chocolate chips and the dark chocolate mint ufos from trader joes in the mix before baking. both of these are my go to vegan baking treats
