Earlier this week was nice...but it's been pretty cold since then. Sun was out yesterday and this morning but looks like a total wash for the weekend! I saw somewhere online, and now I can't remember where, that they are predicted a cooler than normal summer. Does that sound right?

pretty lousy pic here but that is how it is! Snowing a tiny bit up top at Mt Ellen, very foggy and of course rain. Still able to ski top to bottom at Mt Ellen (if you hike it up of course!)

Cooler than last summer? yikes! I visited in August, and it was cool and it rained a bit. At least it wasn't muggy! Seriously though, my daughter lived in Vermont for a couple of years, and I remember she said the spring before last was a warm one with temps in April in the 80's. That summer was warm also. Cooler summers wreak havoc on the garden. Tomatoes get blight and berries and other crops don't flourish.

With the images I am seeing of the Tornado outbreak yesterday and today, this was a sight for sore eyes.

Man I miss snow. I had enough of severe warm season storms and it didn't even hit me yet.

From NWS Burlington:

"If you are a winter/VT ski fan, you'll love this. Still winter on top of Madonna!"

Today was mostly dry & warmer, temps in 60s (instead of in the 40s like yesterday).
Sun shower for about 5 mins. or so (around 7 p.m.) caused a rainbow in southeast sky, first one I've seen since last year.

Sweet!! Perfect spot for a weather station in the open like that. Looks like it's powered by solar. Looks professional. Probably from an NWS spotter in the area. Judging by the antenna looks like the data is being transmitted to him/her.

That spiral thing on the far side is the protector for the temp/humidity sensor which is under that. I cant tell where the rain gauge is. Nice anometer for wind too.

I'd love to see the data from there. We can probably find it based on location. Might be live on weatherunderground or a google search of weather for that spot. He might have a site or something.

Wonder if its secured into the ground or if its checked on daily.

Nice post!

You guys went from 30s to 60s within a few hours this morning. I'm stuck in the low 50s here because of clouds and rain. Snowing in Nebraska.

I started a thread in the Weather forum regarding where the snow is still around. So if you have pictures or info of snow in VT post away.

Nice. I see April 14 & 21st was very warm, warmer than today.

Here's a look at the temps and the departure from normal. Looks like I should move north for warmth. LOL Lighting the wood stove now for some heat. Only 53° at 5pm

70s into Vermont, New Hampshire and parts of Maine. 80s into Michigan
