It's not a place of violent crime but car theft has always been a big problem.

I have actually lived in the vicinity myself too but I never had that issue (gated community ).

But once again, perception of crime and safety is subjective.

I think everyone was implying Mosiac at Largo which is right across the Metro Station... They have bad reviews and I too heard people say there is break-ins and auto thefts.. as the garage is always open every time i drive by it.

I dont know too much about Camden Largo Town Center or Largo Center Apartments as they are near the Metro too..

Bottom line anything near a Metro in PG isnt good. (ie. Franklin Park in Greenbelt, Mosiac at Hyattsville, any apartment near West Hyattsville, Suitland, Landover, Cheverly, and Morgan Blvd) although I dont know about the Apartments near Branch Ave Station

It's funny how things change. I see that pretty much everyone has Capitol Heights on their list of places to avoid. I grew up there in the early to late sixties and absolutley loved it there as a child. We never locked our doors and had no fear of playing outside, well after the street lights came on. We used to brag that we were the last house in PG county. 100 feet through the woods behind our house was Southern Avenue and DC. I recently drove back to the area and barely recognized it.

Any place in PGC has the propensity for a crime to happen depending on what knuckleheads are hanging out at any given time with nothing to do. The same is true with MOCO, NOVA and DC. Go to a gas station or 7-11 and take note of who is waiing to bum money.
It depends on when and where. Drinking and driving is a crime - how much of that goes on?
