This bodes well for College Park if its new vision ever succeeds in becoming a reality. This type of success doesn't happen over night. It would certainly take years to accomplish.

I think the writer of the article needs to use another title. This might not necessarily be a Busboys and Poets rival. And I would hope that the owners of the new restaurant could work with Busboys and Poets as sister establishments.

The theme and purpose of BB&P is to foster social awareness. It was born out of an idea to bring people together to discuss the social issues impacting our communities. It's not just a restaurant that servers coffee, sells, books, and has poetry slams.

On the other hand, I welcome this business to College Park. I always wondered how the auto parts store lasted so long with Advanced Auto Parts almost on every corner. In addition to Amazon.

Nice video summarizing the changes coming to CP. Seems like the university and city are in sync trying to market the new and improved CP. hopefully this marketing campaign will convince some faculty and staff to relocate to CP.

Nice video. Finally things are moving along at a nice pace. No more developments that take 10+ years to start and then after 12 years nothing happens. Things are getting done. The Innovation District aka East Campus is 12 years in the making. It would be nice to get a start date on the next building in that project.

Nando's is said to be opening in October in College Park. That sounds pretty aggressive to me seeing as they just got their windows under a month ago. Given the history of delayed openings in College Park, Kangnam BBQ (almost a year), Terrapin Turf (over a year), I'd expect a November or December opening. If they can do it in October, I'd be VERY surprised. Pleasantly even.

Quote:
Nando’s Peri-Peri, a South African and Portuguese chicken restaurant, will open one location at Knox Road and Route 1 in October, said Terry Schum, the city’s planning director.
But of course Terry Schum didn't know there was already a Nando's in Prince George's County. So, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Quote:
“There are a couple of [Nando’s] locations in the metropolitan area already, but this will be the first one in Prince George’s County,” Schum said.

Not bad. Imagine walking two blocks to your job. Chances are that 5000 sqft won't be a restaurant. Plan for it to be split between two or three different shops. Perhaps a newstand and coffee shop combo.
