In my opinion the lack of economic development in parts of PG County has actually been a plus for the average resident in many ways. Housing, even in the fancy neighborhoods in PG County is cheaper, building lots are larger, more trees are saved in development and large parts of the county outside of the beltway are still rural. It's so green! I noticed how green the area is a few times as our plane from Florida circled over Charles and PG County a few times before finally landing at National Airport.

Does anyone else in PG County enjoy the more laid back less densely developed aspect of living there? Or would most people like to see it become more like Montgomery County MD/Fairfax County VA?
I like the way it is laid out as is. A little bit of retail here and there won't be bad but I don't think they should over build that part of the county. Places like Accokeek and Upper Marlboro are really beautiful and has some very good nature spots to check out. To me any development in those areas should be sensible. No sense of having big box stores every where. Would be nice to see an upscale grocer in Accokeek/Fort Washington. Other than that, keep the development inside the beltway. The infrastructure is already there and there is a lot of places that still can be built out there.

Agreed. I was also in the Tatallon community in Fort Washington two days ago, it was really beautiful. While although I'm more interested in moving to a more developed part of the county once I save up on money, I do like the nature and quietness of Southern PG (I appreciate it even though me being an my early 20's, you would think otherwise lol but I'm cool with a little subdued-ness).

I have always thought of Ft Washington and Upper Marlboro as more greenery/scenic since living up here while Bowie and Laurel more suburban. I'm trying to see where Brandywine would fit in. It's rural/scenic like Ft Washington and Upper Marlboro but it's been but by the development bug and becoming more suburban.

Brandywine is transitioning to be like Bowie/Laurel. It was almost completely rural 20 years ago with some suburban parts but that is changing. There are subdivisions springing up everywhere and the Brandywine Crossing has grown and continues to grow. Granted it is not going to be as big as Laurel/Bowie, it still is much different than it has been in the past.

I'm done with this discussion with you. You refuse to answer any questions or respond in a sensible manner. You're like a one note piano.

In addition, I usually don't get into a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

So the truth comes out that you hate for Prince Georges County and other parts of Suburban Maryland to develop on the same level or greater than Northern Virginia. Now the question is why do you hate the thought of Suburban Maryland developing at the same level or greater than Northern Virginia, but I already know the answer to that.

I do and I always will. I oppose the notion of people moving here from all over the country and seeking to make it over into the crap holes they left to come here. I would think it interesting to know the length of residence of those who support wide spread development of the county. It is being hacked up a present time to build houses ready for the next bubble burst.

Yep, I like it rural. I lived in rural Charles county for a long time but that is now being ruined by development. The worst thing about all of the development is there are 3 arteries in/out of SOMD...4,5 & 210. They are choked to the point of parking lots and will only get worse. Trains? That isn't happening as people need to park near a station.

Face it - the DC metro area is overcrowded and there is nowhere else for people to go. There is no point in further development - a balloon only holds so much air until it bursts. We are at that point now.
