I don't ever remember it being this hot since I've been here especially so many days in a row:

I will be curious what the latest models show (Cliff Mass will update later today), but from what I've been following our forecast is continuously getting worse, or more in alignment with the "outlier" models Mass made reference to in his previous post.

Forecasted 92-99* up here in Whatcom county, depending on how far inland you are.
That's hot! But the 106* forecast for Olympia on Sunday is roasting!

Sunday sounds like a good day for a road trip with the car AC on, maybe stop at Dutch Bros. for a frozen coffee drink. My favorite is the B-52 Freeze. This is the time of year when the PSE gas/electric bill is normally the lowest, but now the AC will be running it up. Also, it looks like I'll have to water the lawn for the first time this year.

I have lived here my whole life. 100° is extremely rare for June and July. During early August a few years back the temps were 100°+ for several days but this was an anomaly then and now.

If anyone had any doubt about human-caused climate change, this should convince them. It's happening so fast...really concerning.

Exactly. And if it's like this now, what's it going to be like 15-20 years from now?

Yeah, we've got enough breathing problems as it is. So we're getting out of here rather than deal with another bad wildfire year and a trend toward that being the norm.

I moved here with the idea of settling in an area where climate change would happen a bit more slowly and seeking a refuge from high temps (well aware it's happening much faster than previously predicted).

I have actually heard people say that climate change has been good for this area, with warmer winter temperatures, and less snow. This weekend may change their minds. Let's hope this is not a trend, but just a warning sign. I remember when it hit 103 in Seattle back in 2009, that was 12 years ago.
