I spent the last day of summer at one of my favorite local places... in the water, of course. It was a beautiful day in and around Vancouver! When summer meets fall. And so it begins.

Mtnsurfer, I think your area is the next one to blow up, or keep blowing up in population, however you want to look at it.
The bit more southerly latitude compared to Tacoma and north does make a difference.

Yes, I think it already is. And unlike other parts of WA, Clark County has a lot of land which is being used for new home construction. It seems like Portland refugees are moving across the river for a variety of reasons. They can still get to work in PDX yet don't have to live there. Our next door neighbors moved from Portland as have a number of others in the region. Then, for out of staters, its a bit more affordable and less crowded than Seattle and the northern Sound. There are advantages in being a bit south including easier access to the Oregon coast among other things.

It's apparently the second fastest growing county in the state, second only to Franklin (Tri-Cities area) which is much smaller in population. Both are on the southern border.

Pink sky at night, sailors delight. First sunset of winter on the Columbia. We had morning fog followed by lots of sun in the afternoon reaching the low 50s.

Today was sunny and gorgeous in the Columbia Gorge where spring wildflowers have begun blooming. The hills have also greened up nicely. Temps were in the mid-50s and it was glorious out. It was a perfect day to get outdoors and enjoy winter in the southern WA.
