[quote=Ariete;31213079]No. If the September avg hi is 25.5C, it's not cool, it's average.

First of all 25,5c is the average of the whole month not the begining of september.
Second of all I live in a microclimate where temperatures are 2 to 3 degrees higher than city center.
Thirdly, 27c cannot be cool for your european standards but 27c with wind and low humidity is definetly cool for us at least is cool for those who live in costal areas in Turkey.Couple of days ago temperatures were in range 32c to 35c and feel temperatures were in mid 40c's so thats why I said its cool for me.

I guess that if high average for August is 18,1°C, then it should quite below 18,3°C at 13.15.

It is refreshing to have below 25°C temperatures after one month and half of average of about 28°C. It won't last, we're supposed to have 30°C again the next days.

Sure, whatever. Highs from previous days:
23.5 °c 24.4 °c 24.6 °c 23.4 °c 23.1 °c 25.7 °c 24.8 °c 22.8 °c 25.2 °c 27.4 °c 28.4 °c 26.6 °c 23.2 °c 24.1 °c

I probably don't have to say that it didn't hit 30C anymore.

And the same crap continues:

Me too. Has been 30C since March. Microclimate.

BTW, I haven't met a Turkish person in my life that is honest about his country. Wonder why. Is it the fear for being prosecuted for "anti-Turkish sentiment"?

Of course. The stats are always wrong if it's Turkey.

Dean york does exaggerate all the time and so does FlamingGalah. Sometimes it will be like 12c here and they will say how cold that is.

I find it funny how they see a 10c night in the summer as cold.

I agree with the other posters, Meteoman certainly does not exaggerate about the heat. Some times them other two would have you believe they live in the tropics.

10C wouldn't be too cold for Yeovil in the summer, but 10C would be cool for Portsmouth. Portsmouth is the warmest city in the UK - what do you expect? It's an island that is completely urban.

I don't exaggerate anything! 12C is cold to me

And 10C IS a cold night in the summer here! My average minimums for July & August are 15C & that is from the former Met Office site, my actual location averages a little higher than that. The RECORD low for nearby Hayling Island in July is 8C & August 7C, it would be a little higher in Portsmouth due to the urban location...

If anyone on here exaggerates it is you! You would have people believe that northern Ireland has polar bears roaming the streets...

Can you explain to us why should the average for all September should be more accurate than the averages for whole August? I don't catch it. Do you really think that suddenly the average temperatures of early September will be that of the whole September month just because we are in September. Months are human classifications, I don't think temperatures follow those time "boxes"...

Saying that it is "cool" doesn't mean that it is an abnormality. Just mean that it is below the average, and that I would take a llong sleeve jacket rather than a T-Shirt as I usually do in summer, to go outside.

I guess that if I haven't the right of describing a temperatures 3°C below average to be "cool", then I must not say either that it will be "warm" when Tours will be reaching 26°C monday, nor even saying that is will be hot when we will reach highs of 30°C next wednesday. All those fit perfectly too in our early September climatology.

I should not say either that when we had 35°C in the end of July that is is hot, since it happend every year at that time once or twice during an average summer, it also fit the normality...

So what we say on this thread. Just putting numbers? And no comment about how we feel those.

Maybe in Finland it isn't. But for me it is, 21°C in July is definitly a "cool day". For exemple, this last August (we can now giving definitive temperatures), we had the month's average fitting the normals, and only day below 21°C... so surely those temperatures are "cool" to my point of view.
