I doubt they will ever come to the UK though.
Commuter trains are that slow. Intercity trains can travel at 140-186mph.

Don't you love CD? Anyhow, when are you planning on going to Paris? I recommend hitchhiking.

How much do you think you'd need to budget?

I mainly used trains instead of buses in England and they go within 150-180 km range. Never had a hassle all my life. Big advantage of trains in UK is the stations are located right in the city centre.

Train is the most popular way of transport in UK btw.

Rail transport in Great Britain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 2013, there were 1.59 billion journeys on the National Rail network, making the British network the fifth most used in the world (Great Britain ranks 23rd in world population). Unlike a number of other countries, rail travel in the United Kingdom has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years with kilometres/miles travelled matching and surpassing the highs of the 1940s.

Right now I don't work so I'd need to budget hard, however I planned everything £50 for Eurobus (or £70 if I decide to take Eurostar which I would prefer), £50 ($78) roughly for Hotel and £150 ($234) spending money (taxis, tours, food etc)

So I could save up £250 ($391) in 5 months easily but fingers crossed I get a job...

Yes the rail network is well used but it always seems to have delays. I wish the food selection was better and the first class selection isn't any different..
