Interesting contrast. Postcard of a rural town in western Massachusetts (Buckland) made either in the 1850s or 1860s. I've taken plenty of photos of it. With the lines between the farmfields it looks more European to me, though obviously the architecture isn't. via wikipedia
Today, the farmfields are mostly gone and it's forest. Can't find a photo of the exact same view that I took, same valley though

I was thinking about last year's cold drop and wondering if this year's will be as violent. It's still quite a few months ahead but the warmer the summer, the worse they can get.
Ukraine is in the EURO 2016 Championship which starts next Friday. And they are in the same group as Germany, Poland and NI!
As Finland never manages to get in I always root for France. And Croatia if they manage to get in. But this time I think I'll take Poland as an one-time favourite.
