It's 81F with a dew of 44F right now at OKC. We had our first low in the 40s this morning, when it got down to 49. We may have a high in the 50s on Tuesday with a low in the lower 40s. Most of the rest of the 10-day forecast looks near to slightly above normal. I think being further west we have avoided the worst of the anomalous warmth.

Low temp of 70.2 this morning, impressive for October.
Let mother nature vent now because come winter the hounds will be released and then we'll get stuck with the Polar Vortex and snow in March.

The seasons shifted. Summer is now July-October. Winter is January-April. 2 month of Spring. 2 months of Fall. That pretty much sums it up for us.

Last time we had a well below normal 1st half of October was 2009. that's why we don't remember.

One of those late yrs for Mt Washington.. They haven't recorded snow yet??? I thought they got some last week?? October 19th is the latest on record for them.
It's not like there's no cold dry air around. There's plenty of it building in Canada. problem is, the Jet stream wants to dip in the west instead of the East so it's dropping down there, not in Northeast.
It's actually a Triple Edge Sword. Stalled Front, Nate, Atlantic Ridge. Bad combo to get in the Fall if you don't want humidity.

I wouldn't say "textbook" as negative PNA is forecasted only 7 days out, flipping back to positive by end of week 2.
2015 October was slightly below average in BGM, but mostly because there were a couple of days where the temperature tanked. Overall it was still a really comfortable month
