I honestly still think it's gonna just scrape by to our east but I'm plenty prepared. I spent this afternoon preparing my house for the storm (moving stuff inside, shutters on unprotected windows, etc). If it looks really bead come Friday afternoon my family and I will be heading inland but if not we're probably gonna ride it out here.

I'm going to post some pictures of the bare stores and gas station lines/closures tomorrow. Storm pics will follow next week.

Here are the facts jacks.
At least it won't blow my 500lb telescope mount away.
This is from another thread i just posted in.

Not gonna happen my friend. Here is what i just posted on another thread jed. No one is better than i am at this stuff duff.
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''' Looks like that ridge will break down even more and the track will change. Looking out to 3 days i see nothing to pull this storm into the gulf. The ridge 2358 miles out to our northeast could rebuild starting Saturday. If storm stays on the forecast track it is on now we will see winds to around 65mph in gust right on the west coast. Planty city may see gust to 75mph. But all it takes is the track to vary by 50 miles east or west to make all the diff in the world for us in the Tampa area.

If the storm track is 50 miles closer to us then we will get winds around 90mph or more in gust. As for rain, this is a faster moving system so local amounts in the Tampa area should be under 4". Worst case it some how gets into the gulf and loops into the Tampa area. But if the track stays well to our east then surge won't be a prob.

So as i see it we are looking much better than 24 hours ago. But crazy things happen so stay tuned and i will keep you guys updated.
Again local rainfall amounts won't be huge as this storm will not stall and keep moving pretty fast. The heavy rain will be on the east side of the storm. THIS IS NOT LIKE THE STORM THEY GOT IN TX where it got stuck and rained 50".

Home insurance is going to be impossible to buy and very pricey if you can buy it. With the high tides and the sea water on the street good luck!

If it rakes up the east coast it could be a trillion + in damages if we see winds up to and over 150mph. I see the ridge breaking down a little more and the worst of the storm could stay just offshore as downstream i see a kink in the upper levels in the west part of the gulf that could help kick the storm a little more east.

Poor Majami's luxury highrise condo overlooking Miami Beach may be completely demolished by those cat 5 winds. Hope he evacuates safely since he is right on the beach.

It's going to be bad, I'm afraid. Probably a Cat 4 when it reaches FL, maybe still a 5. If it barely misses Florida, it won't be quite as bad, if it directly slams Florida it could be devastating. Looks like it's headed for my neck of the woods in about a week.

But I think a trillion dollars in damage is VERY far fetched. Hurricane Katrina, the costliest hurricane ever, was $108 billion, so a trillion would literally be over 9 Katrinas.

But Irma could EASILY beat that record. I think even $200 billion+ is a possibility, worst case scenario.

Euro plays out a nightmare scenario. I just hope the storm starts to get shredded and weakens as it approaches Hispaniola
