It's cold down here in Texas. Didn't get out of the 30's all day under cloudy skies. High of 38, low of 37. Fortunately my furnace is working nicely, had my furnace and A/C replaced in the summer, this new furnace is making it nice and cozy in my house, I'm in short sleeves! I also got my bill and it was 20% less as I guess the old unit wasn't as efficient...

I guess the NAM shows freezing rain as snow accumulation?

That ice threat along the Atlantic coast is rather impressive.

Looking quite chilly in your neck of the woods.

Well... quick summary... Today and tomorrows storm is happening but there's no merging of the Jets and this was seen few days ago. It's basically just a clipper coming down producing snow across Midwest and Northeast.

Now........ Models once again showing a big snowstorm around January 4th. The pattern is ripe, just gotta get the Jet Streams to Phase! Maybe they were just off by 5 days and its really happening on January 4th?

We'll see...

There's some snow on the ground here, but not more than an inch or so and I think some of it evaporated. Areas further south have no snow or just a light dusting here and there. Impressive cold even without a snowpack in the immediate area. I realize that's not the case further north.

Amherst got a not that impressive 5 inches around Christmastime; Long Island is bare other than some scatter snow remnants from piles in shady spots.

Instead of starting a new thread I will continue with this one and ask the mods to change the date. Apparently models were a couple days off.

HUGE storm IS happening and check out the current alerts!

Winter Storm Watches posted for Florida, Coastal Georgia, and South Carolina!

Snowfall total forecast as of right now for this area. (NAM model has a little more because it's closer with the storm)

Do you guys have any idea what will be sitting off the coast? Powerhouse NorEaster. NAM has a Sub 950mb low Thursday 4pm. YUGE!
