You're right, Cambium. That is very impressive; a classic severe cold wave for the Northeast. I particularly enjoyed the record cold Macy's Parade yesterday; seeing everyone in such thick coats with all that steam billowing out the buildings was really something . According to Nei it was the coldest high at Central Park since 1882. Also it's really cool to see deep cold centered over the Northeast for a change.

Wow, only late November too; usually this level of cold is almost exclusively reserved for the plains and Midwest. I knew someone east of the Rockies would see record cold weather, at least it isn’t in Indiana, at least for now, highs in the lower 50’s today under cloudy skies; I’ll take it.

I'll take snow, I hate grey skies and no precipitation without snow cover.

^^^^^^^^^

You should trade places with some one in Duluth Minnesota or Marquette Michigan then, I’m sure you’d get more than your share of snow and cold there as opposed to downright comparatively “Tropical” Louisville.

I think the Midwest has had a longer stretch but yeah, the deep negative anomalies in Northeast was more severe than Midwest. Nice to see for a change! Keep those Upper Lows coming over Quebec and this can happen again!

Been blue skies here for 2 days and staying under freezing. My type of weather. Wearing same thing I did last month. Sweatshirt and Tshirt with Jeans.

I agree on taking Snow over clouds & no precip.

Emptying my wood stove out a lot this month. Feels weird.

It happened! GFS was off by 200 miles the other day. Well... now it's too far West for Chicago. Rain to Snow. Canadian too.

Here is the NAM model for Sunday evening.

Snow for Chicago.

Just had a nice line of heavy rain. Got caught while riding my bike in some rain that formed ahead of it. Low 60's F this afternoon.

Something tells me December ends up warmer than November. Been pretty normal considering most November’s this year have been below average. We will see. We are 6 weeks into this pattern with no breaks... that’s extreme. Something will give.

I'm hoping that the NAM is right but as of right now...
