greatwhitenorth great find!

Had to get out my trusty old dusty Canadian atlas to locate Point Atkinson,BC
It's near West Vancouver, who knew there was a place that mild on mainland BC,
I would have figured it would be on Vancouver Island.

Very mild winters (for Canada) and check out those mild summer lows, very low diurnal range,
but makes sense as Point Atkinson juts out into Queen Charlotte Channel of the Georgia Strait.
Very oceanic
Overall milder (with warmer summers) than BC's other mild spot champ,
Amphitrite Point on west coast of Vancouver Island.

I don't live too far from Point Atkinson... in fact I went there this past summer to do some swimming.. definitely a very nice spot.. although I have to admit that the averages presented look like they are only from a select few years and warm ones at that... how else are all the records only from 1998-2001? Certainly it's gotten warmer and colder at Point Atkinson well before and even since then.

2. Average temperature is >5 C in the coldest month AND 18~22 C in the warmest month. Average minimum extreme >-5 C. Frost free period >240 d.

3. Monthly average temperature is always 10~18 C. Average minimum extreme >-5 C. Frost free period > 240 d.
Definition 2 would make London subtropical, so that can probably be discounted.

Yes but the record low is 1.5 degrees Celsius in January? Are you kidding me? The record highs and lows are definitely for a short period, but if this place went 3 year years without recording an air frost in January or February, then it is certainly very mild.

So you honestly believe that it has never gotten colder or hotter outside the years 1997-2001?

I don't think London can have >-5 C minimum extreme. Maybe some parts of southwest England do.
