Meanwhile Orcland is seeing nothing but humid 25+ C highs, 20+ C dewpoints and 20+ C lows.
Perfect temperatures. Is it sunny or has it remained cloudy? Either way, I'd be very content with those temps during the summer.

Not quite sure what he is complaining about. 10 of our past 11 days have been above 25C and as high as 34.5C. We get 3 days in the low 20'sC and he is complaing how **** our summer is.

Our 7 day forecast is

14 / 22 C
14 / 23 C
13 / 29 C
20 / 28 C
17 / 27 C
19 / 30 C
20 / 28 C

If we had your forecast I would love to see his reaction then.

Nothing but slate grey skies with not a speck of blue -- as always!

Starting to sound quite a bit like your dream climate, no?

I'd be quite happy to swap summers with you (provided you don't live in Alaska).

LOL, yeah, some people just like to complain. I'd be over the moon if my forecast was anything like Melbourne's.

Nobody here has more cause for complaint (climate-wise) than I do. Except maybe Weatherfan2 and Candle.

Very similar to my dream climate actually. My real climate may see one week or so with weather similar to Christchurch during the summer. I would gladly swap summers. Average summer highs are generally between 80-85 F.

Ch'ch averaged 2153 hrs of sunshine in the 25 years to 2009 (less last year with 2041), 51% of the recordable. No NZ location gets more than about 58%. Your commentary and expectations are exaggerated and unrealistic, to say the very least. Weatherforum.org.nz has dozens of Ch'ch members - none of them appear to have the problems you have.

To be fair, I would hate ChCh's recent forecast too.
It looks like one of the worst possible summer weeks in Toronto for temps.

I thought Chch's weather was ''awesome", after shifting there from Invercargill. The easterly wind they get must be one of the most joy killing winds in NZ though. Stratus cloud feels worse to me in a flat landscape such as Chch

Again, unrealistic. NZ is maritime. I was talking about sunshine, anyway.

In'gill's old rating was about 39% though the figures now look better - may be suspect though. The impact of those clouds is less if you live on the hilly part.
