As a native to the area, born in Lake Worth, but lived in the North County, anything south of PGA Blvd. is going to be bad. My former classmate, Barry Grunow was shot being a teacher in Lake Worth. Go Google on it, that should get you started.

well I Lived In This Area For About 20 Years Now. Boynton Beach Is Not A Great Place To Live, As For Apartments, Do Not Do Heron Pointe. Do Not Do Anything Basically With Equityapts. I Have Lived In Heron Pnt/spring Landing/boynton Bay/ashley/ And My Daughters Have Lived In Basically Everwhere Else. The Best Area To Move Is Orlando, Ocala, Inverness, Hernando, Wellington, Juno Beach, Or Boca Raton. I Dont Recommend It At At, It Is Oc And The Highway And Main Roads Are Too Conjested Now. Sorry

I'm sure Heron Pointe is way better than the bulk of apartment complexes found in Orlando.

ITS TRUE THAT BOYNTON BEACH HAS NICE AREAS BUT ALSO BAD. THE CRIME RATE HAS INCREASED SINCE THIS YEAR. I SAY THAT BOYNTON AVERAGED 9.5 MURDERS THESE PAST TWO YEARS AND NOW THEY ALREADY HAVE ABOUT 5 OR 6 AS OF TODAY. DEPENDING WHERE YOU STAY IN BOYNTON IS WHAT COUNTS. EVERYWHERE ELSE IN PALM BEACH COUNTY IS THE SAME IN PALM BEACH COUNTY LIKE BOCA RATONS "PEARL CITY" Pearl City, Boca Raton, Florida - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia WEST PALM BEACH: West Palm Beach, Florida - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia AND ETC.

We got to be careful because sometimes the numbers get a bit confusing. This is the actual reported population and crimes from the source (AreaConnect). I compared it to Miami just to look at another location (more population)

Based on the numbers for every 5,831 individuals someone is murder in WPB.
In Miami for every 5103 individuals someone gets kill.

Based on this data the chances of getting kill in Miami are greater than WPB. What they don't display here is the location within the location. Actually Orlando leads and Pcola is the safest.

Orlando, FL 49 murders population 216,819: the ratio 4424 for each murder
Tampa, FL 25 murders population 331,487: the ratio 13259 for each murder
Melbourne Fl 2 murders population 77,939: the ratio 38969 for each murder
Pensacola Fl 1 murder population 54,967: the ratio 54,967 for each murder

Actual Reported Population and Crimes:
West Palm Beach, FL ---Miami Fl
Population: 99,142--- 392,934
Murder: 17 -----77
Forcible Rape: 46 ---101
Robbery: 574 ----2111
Aggravated Assault: 537 ---3642
Burglary: 1591---- 4442
Larceny Theft: 4775---- 11967
Vehicle Theft: 966 ----3879

Got to look at the actual reported crimes...not per 100,000....got the info from the same source dated on 2006....

The per 100,000 is what actually matters. Sure Miami had 11967 thefts but your risk of being victimized is higher in WPB because relative to the population, more people were victimized. Miami has four times the population.

Very true, I'm just making reference to the actual data. If we had the actual locations we can really tell what are the bad areas within the locations. Do we have the size of the area so we can get an approximate calculation of murders within the actual area....
