Didn't Loretta Lynn come from a Holler? Not WV but just the same.

I know there are quite a few jokes about inbred in WV but really where does that come from . (what about the section of Mormons?).

My parents grew up on a Run, not a holler .

Oh...excuse me, I have to go out back and find a tree to relieve myself.
There, there Jani, forget the tree. Come on over here, stick with the tall cotton and wipe with the top leaves.
Loretta Lynn= Butcher holler kentucky.
Dolly parton= sevierville tennessee.
mountain women need not sweat blaire witch wannabes.

That didn't take long. The movie's producers have canned the casting director who made the remarks, and apologized.

"...Those films are coming and many are here already...not hyped by the media or sensational information churners..."

I'd like to point one out, and bonus--this one includes an "abnormal person", so I'm surprised it didn't do better in theaters judging from these clowns' criteria lol.

Check out "The Station Agent" which was filmed in my town and never made it to the "big screen" except for a few select screenings...a truly wonderful film that we have watched over and over again.

Good! That casting company with their high and mighty, better than anyone else attitude. You know that they think most WV's are that way. Just ignorant. The movie is not filmed in WV nor will WV be mentioned but the casting was for the abnormal people of WV .

What, did you really? If so, I didn't know that either.

I think you have to provide a link to article if you quote out of a newspaper. At least that's the rule on several other forums i've posted on.

Okay, so if you quote you need to link it.

But, you can just link to an article if you wish?

But I did include a link...but they said I violated "copyright rules". Ack!

Do I lose brownie points for that or something?

What stinks is now the text of the article is gone from here, and I'm sure they'll make the original article disappear so there won't be a record of what these dopes said.

eta: Yeah, it's in the terms & conditions--we're supposed to include a snippet and a link to the article. Oh well, live and learn.
