I'm self employed. I would keep working and try not to tell anyone except immediate family members that I had won. I'd pay off our mortgage and invest most of the rest. I would buy a convertible to drive during the summer, but that's about it.
Finish only the project I am working on, then leave. If unemployed at the time, notify companies I applied at, if I can find them, that I am no longer interested and here is why!
Jesus Christ people. Y'all made this such a difficult thread.
I wanted to read more posts about the mean stuff people would tell their idiots coworkers and/or boss lol!
Of course, I understand if you have nice coworkers & a nice boss, you wouldn't say anything. However, staying??? WHAT???? You just won $10,000,000 WTF?!?!?!
Id stay quiet. I would tell them my name will NOT be published, nor my picture, anywhere. Id eventually make a small investment and finally open up a hot dog stand where my hours and days of working would be of my own choice, not someone elses.
I would put in my 2 week's notice, and stay until the last day and not say anything to anyone about the money or anything else about my future plans.
Most of the people here in this office have been horrible to me, but I am not a "flight attendant who popped the emergency chute" type.
I would let them be horrible until the end. And then they can wonder, wonder, wonder what happened to me, it wouldn't matter a bit to me. I wouldn't give them a chance to be even more 2-faced than they have been. They can just be mean and bully me until I vanish, that says more about them than it does about me.
I haven't bought a lottery ticket in a while. Maybe I should.
LOL, that person was a hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
