When I was in college, I briefly worked for an optometrist (private practice). For the first few weeks, the optometrist was away, and all was fine.
Then she returned. From the get-go, I wasn't a fan of her condescending attitude. But a few days after I met her for the first time, she clapped her hands in my face while barking out some order.
I immediately stepped back and told her to get those hands out my face and put them to work signing my final check, because I quit.
It was rough for a few weeks (until I got a new job) since I was fully supporting myself and paying my way through college, but I didn't care and certainly didn't regret it. I don't care who someone is or what power they think they hold over me - I'll be damned if I ever stick around for another second if treated with disrespect.
